Students in the Calgary Board of Education travel to school in a variety of ways, including walking, taking yellow buses or Calgary Transit or being driven by parents/guardians. Their safety is important, no matter how they get to school and home again.

After School Pick Up

For the first week of school, teachers will stay outside with the children for approximately five minutes after the bell to ensure that they are picked up. Starting the second week of school, we expect that children in Grades 1-5 are aware of their meeting spot and can go there independently to meet parents or guardians. (Kindergarten students are handed off to a parent at the door at dismissal throughout the year. Adults picking up children are asked to stand back from the door to make dismissal faster and easier for all.)

Teachers will also be advising children on how to walk to the front office doors and ring the bell for entry in the event that they are late or arrive at a locked door. We ask that parents be on time and arrive before the dismissal bell so that the end of the day ends smoothly for all of our students.

If an emergency comes up and you are running late, please contact us at 403-817-3444 to let us know and proceed to the school office to pick up your child as soon as possible.
