Rainy Day

Students should arrive at school each day dressed for the weather. Calgary weather is ever changing and requires families to be prepared. When rain is in the forecast or when it is raining when you get up / leave for school, students should arrive in rain boots and rain coats / waterproof coats. They may also bring umbrellas.

We also also ask that students have a change of clothes in their backpacks at all times so that if they do become wet, even with proper footwear or outerwear, they can change to something dry.

If rain is not in the forecast and an unexpected storm comes in, we will keep students inside until it passes. If a weather warning / alert is issued by Environment Canada, we respond appropriately to ensure students are safe. (This would include a hail storm, a severe wind storm, extreme smoke, blizzard conditions, etc.)

Please note, regular rain or snow does not result in students being kept inside as fresh air and time to play and interact with their peers is critical for their well-being.

Thank you for ensuring your students are prepared with their outdoor gear. It makes for a much more comfortable day for them!
