REMINDER: TOYS AND PERSONAL ITEMS STAY AT HOME
To help maintain a safe, focused, and positive learning environment, we kindly remind families that toys and personal items should not be brought to school.
This includes (but is not limited to):
- Toys and action figures
- Pokémon cards and other trading cards
- Makeup, nail polish, cosmetics and perfume / cologne
- Collectibles or valuable personal items
- Electronic devices
Why this matters:
- These items can be distracting and take away from valuable learning time
- They can lead to conflicts or disagreements between students
- Special or valuable items may become lost, damaged, or broken
Please note that the school is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items brought from home. If an item becomes a distraction, staff may ask students to put it away or have it kept safely at the office until the end of the day.
We appreciate you helping students stay focused on learning and enjoying their school day. Your support with this expectation helps ensure a smooth and positive school day for everyone.
SAVE THE DATE: JUNE 4 AND 5 IS OUR CASINO FUNDRAISER OPPORTUNITY
What Is an AGLC Casino Fundraiser — and Why Do Volunteers Matter?
An AGLC casino fundraiser is a unique fundraising opportunity that allows schools and charities to raise significant funds — not through gambling, but through volunteer support.
How Volunteering Works
Over a two‑day period at a local casino, parent and community volunteers help with supervised roles such as:
- Transporting chips between tables and the count room
- Assisting casino staff with chip inventory
- Counting casino proceeds at the end of the shift
✅ Volunteers do not gamble
✅ All activities are closely regulated by AGLC
✅ No experience is necessary – training is provided on site
✅ Volunteers do not need police clearances so anyone over the age of 18 is able to volunteer
How This Helps Our School
A portion of the casino’s proceeds is donated to our school as a thank‑you for providing volunteers. Thanks to the time and commitment of our volunteers, this casino fundraiser will raise approximately $70,000 for our school.
These funds directly support our students by helping pay for:
- Classroom resources and technology
- Field trips, field trip buses and enrichment programs / activities
- Music and physical education activities and equipment
- School events and learning opportunities
❤️ Why It Matters
One volunteer shift can make a huge impact on our school community. The funds raised help keep costs down for families while enhancing the learning experiences we offer our students.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who will save the date to volunteer their time — your support will help create a richer, more vibrant school for all our students!
