100th DAY OF SCHOOL

100 Day 2 100 Buttons

On Tuesday, we will have reached the 100th day of school. For this day, many classes will be engaging in various activities around the number 100. This may include things like having students bring in 100 of the same item to compare (ie. 100 paper clips, 100 buttons, 100 Lego pieces, etc.), completing a 100 acts of kindness challenge, brainstorming the 100 best things about their grade, etc.

Classes may also consider or think about what things will be like 100 years from now, or what they will be like as a 100 year old adult. On Tuesday, if they wish, students and staff can dress like their 100-year-old future self to celebrate the day.

Please continue to check the class blogs for updates about important school events or things that classes will be doing or have done as we strive to continue to ensure strong communication between home and school. (Agenda blogs can be found on our school's website at: https://northernlights.cbe.ab.ca/classes.)

WEDNESDAY’S SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING

We will also sharing information for our 2025 School Planning and Budget Engagement Meeting where parents can come to listen about our School Development Plan Goals / Outcomes / Measures, as well as School Budget / School Fees.

IS THE HUG & GO FRUSTRATING YOU AFTER SCHOOL? US TOO!

Is the Hug & Go frustrating you after school? Us too! Unfortunately, we can't change it without parents doing what we ask. Parents should NOT be getting out of their vehicle in the Hug & Go or double-parking...ever. It is not a parking lot and is not intended to be used as a parking lot. Students should not be running into the road portion of the Hug & Go...ever. It is difficult to navigate, but if everyone continues to drive the loop until a spot opens up along the edge for children to get into the car, and then pulls away quickly without idling, it actually moves quite smoothly. Although we have a teacher trying to help there with safety after school, she isn't in control of what parents do and is doing her best. If you are finding the Hug & Go too much to deal with after school, we ask that you don't use it and find somewhere else in the neighbourhood to park, then walk in to pick up your child. Thanks for your patience and cooperation with each other, and for showing compassion and respect to our staff!
