March 21 – NO SCHOOL – Daytime Parent/Teacher Conferences

March 24-28 – NO SCHOOL - Spring Break

March 31 – First day of classes after Spring Break

MRS. SLOANE WILL BE OUR ACTING ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

Mrs. Docherty will be on medical leave for the next three weeks. While she is away, we are pleased to announce that Mrs. Lisa Sloane will be our Acting Assistant Principal. Mrs. Sloane has been one of our Learning Leaders at Northern Lights School for the past five years and is one of our grade four teachers. While Mrs. Sloane is supporting in the office, we welcome back Mrs. Helen Dang as the temporary teacher to Mrs. Sloane's homeroom. Mrs. Dang was part of the grade four team at Northern Lights School last year and we are excited to have her back for a few weeks.

SMOKE FREE ENVIRONMENT ON THE NLS SCHOOL GROUNDS

Parents and guardians picking up students are asked to not smoke on CBE property as we are expected to maintain a smoke free environment. Please read the CBE’s Smoke Free Environment Administrative Regulation for more information. We appreciate the cooperation!

MARCH PARENT / TEACHER CONFERENCES MAY BE ONLINE

We have had many inquiries about Parent/Teacher Conferences on March 20 and 21. Conferences will not be cancelled, but if the CUPE strike continues through the end of March, they will shift to online. We will update families much closer to that date.
