TODAY IS THE LAST DAY FOR HOODIE AND T-SHIRT ORDERS

Today is the last day for hoodie and t-shirt orders. Many families have ordered for next year’s grade colour so they will have their shirt ready for the fall.  Red=Kinder; Orange = Grade 1; Yellow = Grade 2; Green = Grade 3; Blue = Grade 4; Purple = Grade Five.

CHANGES TO THE HOMEROOM AGENDA BLOGS

We will be transitioning from a daily agenda blog to a weekly agenda blog starting next week.  This once a week entry will be posted on Fridays and will contain:

• highlights (with pictures) to provide information about what was learned during the week in Math, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies.  
• tips for what students should continue to work on at home (when it is applicable)
• important reminders for the coming week

We would like all families to take time each weekend to talk about the week, discuss new learning and check in with students about what is needed for the coming week. 

Any other important information will be sent out via SchoolMessenger emails.  Please continue to check the School Website for Mrs. Brinson's weekly Northern Lights News as it has additional important information that families need. 

NEXT YEAR FOR STUDENTS CURRENTLY ATTENDING NLS IN KINDER – GRADE FIVE

Kinder to Grade Four students currently attending Northern Lights School that live in the boundaries of our school automatically move forward to the next grade without any action required from parents. (Existing families living in Cove Haven can continue at NLS or move to Coventry Hills, depending on family preference - no transportation will be available for the Cove Haven area next year. No new siblings of families in Cove Haven can be accommodated and these students must be registered at Coventry Hills School.)

Grade Five students that live in the boundaries for Nose Creek School are automatically registered into Grade Six at Nose Creek without any action required from parents.

For the upcoming year, if you live outside of the boundaries for Northern Lights School or Nose Creek School, you will automatically be designated to the school identified based on your address.

You can check the boundary by going to https://cbe.ab.ca/schools/find-a-school/Pages/default.aspx and entering your address in the ‘Search by Address’ box. 

For the upcoming year, if you declared that both parents are of Roman Catholic faith, we will not have the space or resources to accommodate your child. You will need to register with the Catholic Board of Education as this declaration makes your child a non-resident of the Calgary Board of Education. Please see the Child and Student Registration and Admission Administrative Regulation for more information.
