KINDNESS TO OUR STAFF
We would like to thank our families that are showing kindness and compassion when interacting with our school staff and are recognizing that teachers and support staff are doing their very best in increasingly complex jobs. Each person in our building works in the school because they love children and believe in public education. It matters to them that children are receiving the best education possible and that they have parent support when issues arise.
Please know that when conflicts with children arise, our staff actively work through the issues to ensure a safe and caring environment. We appreciate when parents work as our partners to help our learners become caring, kind, and respectful citizens. When families help their children take responsibility for their part in conflicts, and follow through with additional dialogue and follow-up at home when unexpected behaviours occur, children recognize that their actions matter and that the school and home are part of a team working together as partners.
Please note that disrespectful words or actions towards any of our school staff is not acceptable and will not be permitted. Positive relationships are critical to supporting student learning and achievement. With that, we expect all stakeholders in our school community to show respect and understanding as we work together in the best interests of all children. Thank you for your support!
VOLUNTEERING FOR UPCOMING FIELD TRIPS
All classes in Grades One through Five will be going on a field trip sometime in the new year. (Details for these trips will be communicated by grade once the trip date gets closer.) For these trips, we need volunteers but the clearance process can take up to six weeks to be processed. (Clearances are good for five years so the application only needs to be completed once if you have not done it before.) To apply at https://www.policesolutions.ca/checks/services/calgary/, you require a letter from the school. Mrs. Brinson can generate it for you once she has seen your Driver’s License or Passport. Please email mlbrinson@cbe.ab.ca if you are interested in getting the process started.
