GETTING READY FOR THURSDAY’S PICTURE DAY
Lifetouch has five tips to help you get your child ready for picture day:
- Help your child pick out clothes and colours that look good on them. After all, your child is the star of the photo - not their shirt, so avoid slogans, logos, and big patterns. Small jewelry and accessories are fine but nothing too big or distracting. Some poses may show pants or skirts, so plan the complete outfit.
- Glasses are okay! Lifetouch photographers know all the tricks to reduce glare.
- Keep kids relaxed and ready to be themselves. Smiles can look fake if they’re practiced ahead of time. Remember, smiles are like french fries—they’re better when they’re fresh.
- Don’t worry about “perfect”! That hair that always sticks up or a missing tooth shows your child just as they are right now—and you’ll enjoy looking back on that for years to come. On Picture Day, teachers and Lifetouch staff will help straighten collars and check posture when possible.
ALIEN INLINE SKATING
Please see the updated news story for details about Alien Inline skating lessons. Students CANNOT participate without a signed Acknowledgement of Risk form. This form was sent home in your child’s plastic folder and MUST be returned prior to the first lesson. Students without signed permission will stay with the class during the lesson but will not skate.
Students can bring their own helmet if they own one but there are helmets available if your child does not own one. Elbow pads, knee pads and skates are provided. Students must wear socks inside the skates.
Cleared volunteers would be GREATLY appreciated to help students put on skates and protective gear. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have current volunteer clearance and are free to give a little bit of time during the four days your child has lessons.
